I am a native Estonian whom The Los Angeles Times has called “a clarion-voiced singer, who is going places!
I have always searched for an unbeaten path when it comes to my musical theatre career. At the age of 18 I left home to attend American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) as the first ever Estonian to do so. After graduation I was lucky to have been chosen to play the lead role of Sandy in the North-American and Asian tour of “Grease." That experience gave me a vast knowledge of the art of musical theatre and I have been a proud advocate of the genre ever since.
From the year 2016-2021 I served as a creative director, teacher and co-founder of Hanna-Liina Võsa Muusikalikool, a private musical theatre school located in Tallinn Estonia. The purpose of the school was to plant little seeds of love for musical theatre in children between the ages 8-16. I believe the aim proved to be a success. Today as I have taken another detour in my life, the school continues to share the joy for singing, dancing and acting under the name of Muusikalikool.
Currently I am playing Christiné in “The Phantom of the Opera” at The Finnish National Opera for a third season. I have also had the privilege to play the role in Gothenburg Opera in Sweden and in the Estonian production in Theatre Vanemuine.
As a travelling performer, my shows include the European premiere of Marc Shaiman and Scot Wittman’s “Hairspray” (Penny) in Helsinki City Theatre, “Sugar” (Sugar Kane) in Tampere Theatre in Finland, “La Cage Aux Folles” (Anne) at the Gateway Playhouse and Garry Marshall’s “Happy Days” (Lori Beth) at the Goodspeed Opera House in the United States. I have also been lucky to create a brand new role of Serra for Marcus Cheong and Ken Lai’s musical “Angels” presented at the NYMF Festival in NYC.
Although I have not stepped into the TV and movie territory much, I consider the opportunity of guest starring in the legendary crime series “Law and Order, SVU” playing opposite Sharon Stone, Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni as one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. And funny as it is, my performance as the Estonian Elsa in “Frozen” has probably reached the widest audience thanks to the worldwide fanclub of the Walt Disney masterpiece.
